Transferring tickets/room key from default Magic Band to retail Magic Band

So we've received the default bands you get through the mail, linked our tickets to them and will have them attached to our room when we arrive next week. But we're looking to buy some of the more interesting retail bands once we're there. Has anyone done this before, and how easy is it to have your tickets/room key/credit card transferred from the bands we got in the mail to the new bands we'd buy in the parks?

Very easy. Link them to your account and you're done. Nothing is "on" the bands.

All you do is link the new, graphic MagicBands to your MDE account and they'll provide the access to your tickets at the parks and room access at your resort.

The CM at the shop can link them to your account when you purchase the new bands. There is nothing on your MagicBands - when linked to your MDE account, they provide access to all the data in your account.

You can choose to use the new MBs or the ones that have been mailed to you. They are interchangeable.
