Transferring reservation from disney to AAA

I just returned from my AAA Office inquiring about how much of an OBC I could get if I transferred my cruise reservation from disney to AAA. I have only been on one prior cruise and my SIL booked all the rooms directly through her AAA in another state. From reading this board, I thought I could transfer my reservation anytime prior to final payment and be eligible for extra AAA OBC and benefits.

BACKGROUND: I booked my cruise on March 6, 2007 for a double dip 4-night cruise leaving May 11, 2008. I already have a $75.00 OBC ($25 booking online and $50 Disney Visa). My final payment is not due until Feb 26, 2008.

I have been thinking about transferring my reservation to AAA and since this is AAA Disney month I thought it would be beneficial. The AAA Agent told me since I made the original reservation 10-months ago, I would not receive any additional OBC if I transferred to AAA. I would only be eligible for the shopping discounts (Castaway rental, etc.). Last time we didn't even use the AAA discounts, but enjoyed the OBC. She said I could cancel my reservation and rebook with AAA to receive any OBC. The price of my cruise has already increased over $450.00. I was disappointed because that is not an option.

Does the information the AAA Agent told me sound correct? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

We transferred our cruise to AAA just last week. Although we were not eligible for the additional January bonus credits, we did get the regular AAA onboard credit because our final payment on the cruise has not been made. Check again to see if AAA is just excluding the "extra onboard" credit.

njdisneymom,

I would check with dreams unlimited too! They are the official sponser of this board. I researched through the threads and found that they have a great reputation. I am an AAA member too but decided to go with DU based on reputation, professionalism and OBC. I just booked a 2009 cruise with them and they were very professional and offered a great OBC! It is worth checking.

What about Costco? I've heard that they will give you Costco credit, but does it work if you've already booked onboard?
