Transferring Points?

How does transferring points to another member work. Suppose I have 56 points left this current use year. I assume I can transfer these points to another member. What what about next years points. Do I have to wait for that use year to arrive before I can transfer points to another member? Or can I transfer them to another member now (into their next year's point total) and then they can borrow them if they need them this year, or use them to make next year's reservation now?

I think that transferred points need to remain the their own use year. I think this is really a MS or DVC Guide question . Although a couple of the more "expert" types will know the answer. I'm sure it's in the member handbook.

You cannot transfer borrowed points to another DVC member. You can only do it with current use year points. We tried to transfer points to another member for the first time and had some borrowed points, so instead we made the reservations for the other member, just as you would for another renter or guest. CM was very helpful and had no problem with the transactions.

You can transfer only current use year points. The DVC computers can't keep track of transferred points and the home resort and use year if different than the account they are transferred to. DVC is working on it and could have it fixed any time. You can transfer points from next years use year to a similar use year of another member. You can bank transferred points but I don't think you can borrow transferred points.
