Transferring points

I'm planning a trip for May, 2011 and my parents and sister and her family are coming too, so we want bigger accomodations than what we normally get when it's just my family. We are going to make the reservations in June this year and so are planning on renting/transferring the additional points we will need by then. My question is if my home resort is AKV do I have to rent points from someone else whose home resort is AKV in order to make the reservations in June or does it not matter what their home resort is?

Transfered points retain their home resort and UY. To use those points to make a reservation at the 11 month window, you would need to have points transfered that are for the resort you are making the reservation for.
