Transferring Points In - Question

Hi.

If I get a transfer in of points and dont/cant use, can they be banked?
If I bank, can I borrow for future ressie?
Is there a certain Month I need to use for the transfer if I am stalking a January date.

I want to stalk one day but need the extra points and cant buy the OTU points since if I see the date, I want to immediately book.

You can bank points but not borrow them. You just want them to be good for the January day.

What you can do if you want OTU points is call, book something more than 31 days from now but less than 7 months and buy for that night.

Once booked, cancel it. The OTU points will show up online. The drawback is they will expire at the end of your UY so if the January date doesn’t come through, you are stuck with them.

Then, if they do that, I could purchase the remaining OTU points for a ressie far out I can find for the remaining points I can buy, cancel, and then the 24 points would be sitting in my 2021 UY for me to use.

They should be able to. I would also try modifying on your own and just don’t check the temporary contract those OTU are in as a choice.

It should then pick up all your own and leave them and keep things intact.

If try yourself first. Just modify, uncheck that contract and follow to the end to rebook. If it works, no call needed! Transferred points are based on the UY of those points.

Right now you can accept transfers for any 2021 points as those are all valid for a January 2022 trip. Doesn’t matter what UY you have.

Transferred points keep their own UY so if you don’t use them in January, you could bank them and they are valid for the 2022 UY of that UY.

So, whether you’d do that depends on when you’d want to use them if January doesn’t work.

For example, if you got Feb 2021 UY points, and banked, they are now good for trips from Feb 1st 2022 to Jan 31st of 2023.

But, if you got Sept 2021 UY points, and didn’t use in January, they’d be good for trips until Aug 31st 2022 without banking…or if you did bank, then they can be used for trips Sept 1st, 2022 until Aug 31st 2023.

actually all 2021 points are good for September 2021. Some will need to be banked and some won’t for a trip then.

I was actually able to stalk and pieced together a weeks stay January 1-8 at OKW so less points and I now dont need to borrow.
