Transferring Points from Cancelled Cruise

My friend had to cancel her cruise she booked with points. Her points were returned to her use year and she cannot bank them. They said they are returned points not in holding. Can she transfer them to me and can I bank them? I've been reading the rules and can't she why she could not do it. Unfortunately I will not be able to use them before her deadline but could use them shortly thereafter her deadline. I just want to know rules before we call MS, sometimes you get someone inexperienced. Her points were from her current use year and borrowed. I know she cannot transfer borrowed points but can transfer current points and they normally can be banked right away.

If she used them to book a cruise, they are now reservation points. They can only be used for a non-DVC trip, like a WDW hotel, DL hotel, DCL or ABD. They expire at the end of the UY.

Yes. Once used to book a cruise or Disneyland etc they aren't I normal points anymore.

They should use them for a cruise, concierge or disney collection option by the end of the UY. They have a lot less value now than they did as DVC points.

What are Reservation Points and how do they relate to Vacation Points?

Reservation Points refer to Home Resort Vacation Points that have been converted to reserve accommodations with the Disney Collection or Concierge Collection. Once converted, Reservation Points cannot be re-used for Disney Vacation Club property stays or World Collection exchanges.

• One Reservation Point is equivalent to one annually allotted Home Resort Vacation Point in the Central Reservation System.
• Reservation Points have no other relationship with or comparison to Home Resort Vacation Points.
• Reservation Points are established for convenience of reference only.
• Reservation Points expire at the end of the Use Year in which they are allotted.
• Reservation Points cannot be banked, borrowed, transferred or used to reserve accommodations through the RCI® or the Buena Vista Trading Company External Exchange Programs, nor to reserve accommodations at Disney Vacation Club Resorts.

A cancelled reservation made with reservation points continue to be reservation points, so it really limits where and how they can be used.
