Hey all,

I tried searching for this but can’t find an answer for this specific question. We booked a placeholder onobaorad on sep 23 and used the same travel agent as we have before which gives us an addition obc.

We want to book a back to back for Jan 2020. Since following the watch threads I’ve learned abt Costco travel.

While I have no complaints about my TA we only get a 100 obc by moving the placeholder to her and roughly 600-700 cdn through Costco. Financially it’s better to do that. Can I move the placeholder from one ta to another within the 30 days of original placeholder booking?

The only snag is silver can book in 2 days and I know the placeholder won’t be moved before that so I’ll miss opening day prices. I may just stick with her for the one and book the 2nd through Disney on the 3rd and transfer it to Costco.

Only if the original TA is willing to release the reservation. You have to check with them. Some TAs charge a fee for that, others don't.

I believe, as long as it's still within the original 30 days of the placeholder booking, you should be able to do it. Check with DCL on that one.

Do you only have one placeholder? If so, it's only applicable to one cruise, so booking a B2B, you wouldn't get the OBB perks for the second leg. Sounds like a good idea to do the second leg with Costco, in that case.

Thanks very much. Im not even going to ask my TA to release the booking if thats what is needed. Shes earned her money and not a fair request when she will be swamped this week anyway. Its too much of a hassle anyway but nezt time i know!

We do only have 1 PH. I asked to book a second but they wouldnt let me. It was unfortunate as we would have booking both sailings on board had we been allowed. Oh well.

It's not that "they wouldn't let you". It's just that the "rules" say you can only make 2 reservations on one future cruise.

But, now you know to book placeholders on both legs of your future B2B.

So let your TA book one of the legs and book the other with Costco. It's more hassle for you, because you have to give payments to two people. Just try to make sure you are getting the same room on both for the best experience. And, since it's a new booking with Costco, you could do it on line while you're on the phone with your TA. I will say, Costco is notorious for not showing all availability on Dream class Deck 9 for some reason. But you can phone a Costco agent and get that room booked over the phone.

Thanks for the advice. We are still in WDW and not back until Friday. We don’t have a US phone plan. We are definitely going to have her book the PH cruise. I may just have her do the second leg as well. We would still get the 250 us obc for the second leg. It seems like less of a hassle haha. One concern we have is we aren’t totally sure about the second leg so if we get the Costco gc we couldn’t use it until we are comitted to doing both legs.
