I am considering transferring my ressie to Small World Vacations as it would qualify for their free waterpark tickets offer. I have pretty much everything in place - went multiple times and don't really feel the need for a travel agent - but with over $200 in free waterpark tickets am willing to transfer it. Is there any negative that I am not considering?

I went with them only for the waterpark tix. They are nice and generally pretty responsive. We've used them before. If it wasn't for a freebie like that, though, I wouldn't use a TA b/c I'd rather have all the control. (insert evil laugh here, I suppose?)

I'd rather maintain control as well....but for waterpark tickets when my dd JUST asked about going and I told her we couldn't do both MNSSHP AND a waterpark I think it's probably worth it. I have always used Dreams Unlimited in the past when I did use a TA (back before I had unlimited minutes on my cell and you couldn't make ADRs online....you know, back in the dark ages....) and I absolutely loved them...but didn't like losing control then either. I think I will go ahead with it. I don't foresee needing to make any changes so it shouldn't be a problem.

What sort of things do you lose "control" of by going with a TA? My understanding is that even if a TA makes the reservation, you can get the Res # and link it to MDE such that you can make ADRs and FP+ yourself. Am I wrong?

No you aren't wrong. The only thing you lose control over is if you actually want to make a change to the reservation whether it is a package or a room only. Say you wanted to add a day to your reservation, the TA would have to do it for you.

As to ADR and FP+ you can still do that all on your own.

For folks wanting to transfer reservations, it has to be done within 30 days.

I've used Small World to book 3 Disney cruises and have always been happy.

I too would rather have full control over my reservation (I hate bugging people) but it's worth it to get the onboard credit.

I wouldn't think twice about using them in exchange for the ticket upgrade. Seems like a no-brainer.

Yep...I was just referring to reservation changes or payments (as far as losing control). Those are the only 2 things I cannot do myself any longer. But since I don't anticipate any changes and even if I do have something -they can make the change for me so I went ahead with the transfer. My daughter's happiness is worth any minor inconvenience of not being able to do those things myself. Thanks!

I saw it on Facebook from Mousesavers. Your reservation does have to meet certain requirements to be transferred. It cannot have been made more than 30 days ago, can't be paid off, and there may have been something else. I'd look on the Mousesavers website for more information.
