I'm a cast member at DCA for a year now and I really like the place. It's nice and chill and people are great, but this year in 2011, I want to do something different and do different stuff. Currently, I'm at quick service restaurant, but what i'm thinking now is transferring to a new area/ department like attraction, guest relation, retail, etc.. So if anybody work there before or currently, can someone help me out and recommend what area should i go for? Thanks

I am not a CM currently but was one at WDW. It is so easy to transfer and you can really go anywhere! I went from hostess at a restaurant to front desk and then I spent a few months at Disneyland Paris and did merchandise.

Just think of what you like to do, how much responsibility/training you want to take on and what hours you would like to work. If you are planning on staying with Disney for a long time think of the future - would you like to be a manager in food and beverage, hotel, attractions, merchandise?

I had a lot of fun on all the jobs I held at Disney but my favorite was front desk. After a few months working the front desk I did rooms control and had a blast finding the perfect room for special occasions. You can do so much for guests when you work at the front desk!

One position I always wanted to try was guest services at the parks - would have loved to wear the plaid vest and give tours!

Whatever you choose - good luck! And if anything you can always change after six months ;)
