Hi All!

I have someone interested in receiving a transfer of my February 2025 UY points. Is there a specific date those would be eligible to transfer? Can I do it now or do I have to wait until 2024?

You have to wait until your 2024 UY begins. They allow you to transfer your current UY and the following one. Since you are in your Feb 2023 UY, its 2023 and 2024 UY points that can be done today.

So, Feb 1st, 2024 you can transfer the 2025 UY points.

Question, if someone transfers current UY along with a future UY, can current UY be banked then transferred? I used to know all this a long time ago. Thanks.

Transferred points can be banked. But they can not move to another membership a second time, whether they have been banked or not.

The only leeway with this rule is for owners with multiple memberships. They don’t hold us to one transfer when moving around within what we own.

But, if we want to transfer in or out from a different owner, then it’s the same limit of one.

Remember, even transferred the rules of those points don’t change. They still follow their original bankingo window, home reosrt and once transferred, can no longer be borrowed for a trip.

This thread was super helpful. One q about my situation though.

I have two contracts with differences use years. I am booking a big trip on my main contract with 2022 (banked), 2023, and 2024 (borrowed) points. To add the final night I am planning to use OTU points at 7 months.

would I be able to transfer my 2024 points from the other contract, and then borrow them into 2023 to avoid that OTU purchase? No earlier points left on smaller contract unfortunately.

from your last comment Sandy I assume not… but just hoping. Maybe the next q is about DVC’s ability to join or link the reservations if I instead book the last night purely with the smaller contract. Any risk we would have to move rooms if I book six nights on one contract and a seventh on a separate one?

You can not borrow points once they are transferred. So, if you trip falls in the 2023 UY of the points you want to transfer, then 2024 UY points will be of no use.

They will tell you that they can not guarantee you won't move rooms, but I do it all the time, have never had to move and matter of fact, it is easier and better for them to keep you in the same room....my guess is they say that simply because it covers an emergency situation if it arose.

Personally, I would just book the 6/1 and be done with it....then have MS note on each it is continuous, and that you want to be kept in the same room...when you get there the day you arrive, go to the front desk and make sure it was done....that would be the time they can fix it if it wasn't....

They don't even require you to go to front desk anymore on the day between them....we have no issues at all and almost every trip is booked with nights from my multiple memberships!

Thanks so much. The knowledge on these boards is always so helpful, and a big part of why I even bought in.
