How difficult is it to transfer from one resort to another? I don't have a rental car. Is it quicker by cab or does Disney have shuttles?

We did it for the first time last summer from the AKL to BWV. When you are ready to checkout just call Bell Services to let them know you are ready for luggage pickup and confirm with them what resort to send your luggage to. Someone will come up and take it from there. Our Bell Services guy was very nice and we tipped him as well. We then left and went to Downtown Disney to shop and then caught bus to BWV. We go on to the next resort to checkin and then take off to the parks. No problem at all! I may do it again this year as we are thinking of splitting resorts again. Have a nice trip!

How long does it take for the luggage to get from one resort to another?

Hi there,
Last summer I split my stay between 3 resorts! We had our luggage sent ahead of us each time and it was a breeze. You call bell services ahead of time the day you check out tell them that you are checking into another resort they pick up your bags, put the name of the resort you are going to on the tags, you tip them and later that day when I checked in to the new resort my bags were already waiting for me in my room!!It was really a very smooth transaction all around!! Save your money don't bother with the taxi!! Buy another churro!!!

In my case we checked our luggage with bell services at the GF at 11:00am, and at 6:00pm it still hadn't arrived at the BW. They had lost it. Lots of calls later it was located and delievered, but it was not worth the headache and missed dinner reservation. Next time I'll take a cab and move it myself.

Thanks for your input. Sorry to hear it took so long Ducklite. I was planning on checking out in the morning (10am) and heading over to DTD. Here's another question. I was thinking that I should take a bus over to the All Stars and check in early that morning, then head back to CB and do the check-out process and the baggage transfer after that. Can you be checked in to 2 resorts at the same time, even though it would be for a very short time? This way I could possibly get a better chance at locking in a room in the location I'm looking for. Finally, at the All Stars, if you are already checked-in, but the room is not available yet, will they deliver your bags to your room when it is ready or do you have to go get it? Sorry for all the questions.

I'm sure you can do that, but because there is no direct shuttle from one resort to another, it would be a lot of time and effort to do it (or a cab). Personnaly, I think I would just have CBR pick up my luggage, and then go to DTD (we use the express checkout service) and then on to the All Stars when you are done at DTD. Enjoy your trip.
