We currently have ressies at our home BWV for mid-Aug. and now that BLT will be taking ressies on 2/22 I'm just making sure that I can transfer my ressie if possible. I realize BLT will probably go, go, go but I'm def. going to try if that's something that can be done. Am I correct that I can transfer an existing ressie if there's room at the other resort?

Yes, but technically, you would be canceling the reservation at the BWV and making a new one at BLT.

Good luck - sounds like you will have lots of competition to get to MS on the 22nd.

Sure, just call on 2-22 and ask for BLT ...

I really do think you have a good chance. Particularly if all of BLT is open for booking. That place is huge and August is not that popular. Plus, many people probably don't think they can book at BLT yet.

A word of caution. A couple of weeks ago we did a cancel and rebook at AKV for next December.

MS canceled our existing reservation and when the Advisor went to make the new reservation, the inventory that was there a couple of minutes before was gone. We ended up on a wait list.

Even if all of BLT is open, not all of it will be available to DVC members to book on points.

Only the portion that the Developer has declared into the condominium will be available to members using points. That's the portion already sold to members plus little "cushion" (since the Developer has to keep enough inventory in the condominium to continue selling).

The unsold portion still belongs to the Developer. If that portion is ready for occupancy, they will almost surely be renting those units out to the general public. Proceeds from those rentals (less a commission to CRO) go into the Developers' pockets.

Good point! If you do not have enough points free to book both, I was told that MS will not 'hold' the BLT reservation while they cancel the BWV reservation - so just be aware that the possibility does exist that you could cancel BWV, not get BLT and then not be able to rebook BWV. This is our situation for Oct - we decided to keep our points 'unbooked' until the 7 mos window - if we can't get BLT we will be happy to stay whereever we can get in - with fingers crossed for AKV. If you are not willing to loose BWV, be sure and ask the CM to check the inventories at both before cancelling. I'm betting the phones at MS will be jumping each morning for 7 mos BLT bookings once 2/22 comes!
