Hello everyone,

I'm going down this August to be a character performer for the DCP at WDW. I have just graduated college so I know I can't extend my DCP, but I was thinking about auditioning/applying to go and work abroad in France, Japan, china, or DCL. Does anyone know about that process who can help me understand it more?

Thank you!

First off, you CAN extend your CP or extend into a PI, that what I did when I was on my CP after I graduated.

If you want to work abroad within entertainment as a character, goto www.disneyaudtions.com and check out the calendar. The process is the same as it is for WDW and DLR.

Per the site:
DCL: Current auditions in New York, NY
DLP: Current auditions in London, England
Hong Kong: Current auditions in HK
Tokyo: None scheduled

I can only share with you what I know of DLP. If you want to be a character, you can be fine with only just English and I think they only hold the auditions around Europe. For other roles, you must be able to speak French fluently (other languages would also be useful) and this will be tested at the interview. You can't (from what I have been told) be 'transferred' (usually this is only done at management level and above) but you have to apply. Moreover, I'm not sure if people from the US can apply due to visa restrictions.

For the others - you will need to be fluent in the languages from that country. Tokyo Disney is not actually operated by Disney and they have an entirely different application process and way of operating. They are notoriously harder to get into and have much higher standards - they are often regarded as the most exceptional cast members throughout the world.

If you want to continue your Disney career in an international capacity, I'd suggest looking at the Disney Cruise Line. Many people who work with DCL go on to have 'land jobs' based at various locations throughout the world.

Good luck!

That is correct, all the parks are "separate" (you can't transfer even from DLR to WDW)
