We booked our cruise direct with disney a couple of months ago ( along with 14 nights at CBR) and I just read on another thread that some people transfer their cruise booking to dreams unlimited to obtain an onboard ship credit - is there a time limit/ cost involved.

What are the advantages of transferring? It is our first cruise so I booked it direct in case I messed anything up :)

There is no cost but unfortunately they changed the rules last year(maybe year before that, I lose track), you now have to transfer within 30 days of making the reservation. I lost out last year, I didn't know of the change, cost me about $300.

Advantages are the onboard credit plus they are supposed to notify you if the price of your cruise drops, they would rebook at the lower price (Disney wouldn't do that, you would have to keep checking yourself)

Thanks Wayneg, I hadn't heard of transferring a booking before :)

Well if the cruise goes well and we enjoy it without any sea sickness from me :) then I will keep in mind the transfer for any future bookings. Thanks for your help. X

Very few people have problems with seasickness. Before our first cruise I was worried about it plus we didn't know if we would enjoy it etc. This year will be our 8th Disney cruise (plus 2 RCCL)
If you are considering a 2nd cruise you can rebook onboard for 10% off & onboard credit, if you are not sure of exact cruise you want to do you can book a random one then transfer you discount later when you know the exact cruise. Plus transfer to DU and also get their onboard credit.

Thanks for the tips I've added them to my new planning book for future trips :)

Yeah I'm hoping I will be fine, I get motion sick but have only had sea sickness once on a glass bottom boat in key largo, the waves were big and the boat was rising up then scraping the the floor ( we were not very far out so not too deep) I had to sit up on deck with practically everyone else on the boat :) our flight home was the next day and we had bad turbulence the whole flight and I felt so ill! I have never been ill flying before so must have been linked to the boat I think.

I've got the bands, tablets and a dab on thing so I'm ready for the worst and ready to need none of them too :)
