transferred points

our friends have points at a different DVC home than us, but we are thinking of taking a joint vacation. Can my friends transfer their share of the points to me so i can use them to take advantage of the 11 month booking window at our home resort?

If they have a different home resort they can only be used to book that resort until 7 months out. Transfered points retain them home resort and use year.

You best bet is to book some part of the stay (like the first half) at your resort and have them book the rest of the stay at their resort at the 11 month window. Then at the 7 month stay try to get one of them moved. Drawback would be there would still be two seperate reservations and I am not sure if they would force you to check out / in again.

It may still be best to do a points transfer, book 1/2 at each resort and try to merge at the 7 month window. That way it would be all under one reservation.

thanks, i didn't think we'd be allowed to use their points from another resort to get the 11 month booking window for part of the stay at our home resort. Thanks for the quick responses.
