Transferred Points for Disney Collection

Am I able to accept a transfer of points from another member and use them towards a reservation for a Disney Collections property like Paradise Pier? Do I need to ask the member if they purchased direct from Disney to be able to do this?

I am not sure about whether you can use the transferred points, but I can say for sure that if it is possible, they must be direct points from Disney or points that were from resale prior to March, 2011.

I would call MS and just say you have a friend who may have extra points to transfer to you and you want to use them for those collections and see what they say.

Unless you can get cheap points and are sure of how this is going to work to boot, I'd avoid this approach if possible. You'll have to worry about UY, whether they are qualified points as well as the usual cancelation risks and likelihood you're paying more than simply doing so on cash.
