Transferred Points and Banking

Here is the Question: Can you bank points that are transferred into your account from another DVC member?

For example, I own at BWV with a February UY. DW wants to take a January weekend at VB with a one night stop at a WDW resort so our friends can have a day there and we can get another day's usage out of our APs. Since we are still not at the 7 month mark, our points cannot be used to make the ressie yet, and since it's January, it becomes tricky of our friends back out.
So I was thinking, perhaps I rent some VB points with an autumn UY (say Aug, Sept or Dec), then if our friends back out, we simply bank extra points for our use the following January (our fav' time for VB).

So I realize that trnasferred points keep the same home resort and UY, but can you bank them if necessary?

Well, I spoke to Member Services this morning, and got a nice concise answer, if anyone is interested:

You can bank transferred points. The CM has to do a special note and it is a little complicated on MS's end, but you can do it. the nice CM also confirmed that the transferred points keep their original UY and home resort (which we all knew already ).

Wow, so it looks like a feasible plan.

Plus, it seems I have been able to line up the VB portion of our January adventure. Now to get just a few more BWV points.
