When transfering points into another members account.... Is the once a year free transfer based on UY or Calender year? AND if you want to transfer points more than once..... what is the fee? Is it a flat fee or a % points transfered fee?

Thanks bunches!

Laura,

There is no fee for the transfer. You can also transfer as many times as you want, as long as they are going one direction during that particular use year, i.e. in or out. MS confirmed the new policy change for me. They said that they do not want to publicize this because they don't want to encourage people to do this.

Anyway, I always love to see your posts. You make me laugh and I love the motto you have by your signature. I wish I could be that happy all the time and appreciate everything I have like you do.

It's good news to hear about the change in transfer policy, I wonder what brought it about. It is by use year, not calendar year. And as stated, there is no fee.

Thanks for the info!! I am donating some points, and even though I would do it if it cost me, it is nice to know it wont! :)

As for my siggy..... I work hard at reminding myself everyday, that I am so blessed to have the problems I do.... I mean my biggest gripe today is I cant stabilize my clorine levels in my pool.... How can I gripe about that!! We are so blessed to HAVE a pool in the first place. KWIM

WHats that saying..... I used to feel bad for myself because I had no shoes.... until I met a man who had no feet..........

I am blessed and I know it. ANd I work hard at being Thankful every day!

BTW I am not a religous gal............. just a personal phliospher (who cant spell if her life depended on it! University Grad and all! lol)

One more ???????? CAN you transfer both in and out in one UY? Would there then be a fee.....

Thanks!

No. You can only transfer in OR out. There is no fee. They just do not allow it. If you have another contract with a different use year I think you can do out for one and in with the other.

Thanks for clarifying this. Those of us who are donating points for the Gppd Samaritan cause, were all questioning that. Thanks for asking Laurabearz, and thanks for the clarification Lucky.

My guess is DVC will allow an exception for this policy. Contact Jackie at DVC MS and get her input. Who knows, she might be able to help out some in other ways as well.

Just curious, why do you think they made a change in this policy. To keep points within the DVC crowd, and lessen the amount of point renting that goes on??

I know someone who got a GV for a group of 6 women on a reunion weekend, most if not all were DVC members. They all transferred points into her account so she could make the reservation. I think for situations like this it makes sense for DVC to allow it. Members probably share accomodations with member friends & family pretty often, this is easier than each making reservations for different nights and linking them together.

I am curious too. I sincerely doubt that renting has any relationship. DVC doesn't care about it and even if they did, they wouldn't care if it was guest vs another member. My guess is the increasing number of people with multiple contracts. The one per year didn't make a lot of sense anyway. I hope they don't put in a charge for this but they certainly could if they wanted.
