Transfering points process

I have someone who is willing to transfer a few points to me.

So I make payment via pay pal.?

I give him my member #.?

He calls member services and deposits points into my account?

Big TRUST here.

These are 2013 UY points.
Can I borrow them into my 2012 UY?

I need them for a March 2013 reservation.

They are BCV points,,,,,I need OKW so I know I can't use them until the 7 month point right?


What else do i need to know
Any and all help would be appreciated as I've never done this and He hasn't either.

no.

you cannot borrow transferred pts.

(for reference, you can bank transferred pts. also, you cannot transfer pts that have previously been banked or borrowed.)

Ok so even though this trip isn't until March 2013
I'd be making the reservation in 2012 so I'd have to borrow them which I can't. Back to the drawing board.
So transferred points retain their use year and can't be borrowed .

When you call to make the reservation has absolutey nothing to do with if you are borrowing points or not. What matters is your UY, and when the trip takes place. For example, if the points are February UY and your trip is in March 2013, the trip occurs during the '13 UY. Thus, you are NOT borrowing. However if the points are April '13, you would need to borrow them for a March '13 trip. Hope this helps.

Yes, you definitely want to know his UY. Transferred points retain their original UY and home resort. If his UY is February or March, you can use his '13 points for a March '13 vacation. If it is anything else, you can't as transferred points can't be borrowed. You are quite welcome. Good luck!

one per UY. either in or out but not both.
