Transfer Riviera Resale points

Hypothetical scenario
If I have a recent AKL resale contract and another person has a RIV resale contract..... can we transfer points to each other so that they can go anywhere and I can go to RIV??
Something we both can’t do without this transfer?

So you are limited to 1 transfer in or out per UY. So essentially it at most could be a 1 way transfer, if falling in the same UYs. Though you could each make a reservation for each other, similar to a rental.

In order to do this, one person would have to transfer points from one UY and the other from a different one. For example, someone could transfer 2019 UY points, while the other one accepts 2020 UY points. Then each person would be able to use them at the respective resorts.

But, the person getting the 2020 UY points would have to wait to use them for a trip in the 2020 UY of the points, or bank them to use in the 2021 UY. Transferred points can not be borrowed.

For someone who owned restricted RIV points, it would probably be easier to rent/transfer those points and then just rent a reservation from another member for a trip to a different resort.

I personally think that resale RIV will be points for a very select group of people if they are not already DVC members..ones who want to stay there exclusively. If someone is already a member and has points for other resorts, then the restrictions aren’t as impactful.
