I am new to the points transfer/rent process. I have been a DVC member since 1994 (OKW when it was just called The Disney Vacation Club and there were no other DVC resorts).
I used DVC quite a few times between 1994 and 2006 but now I find I want to go other places as well as and instead of WDW/Disney (cruise to Mediterranean for example) and a WDW vacation will be out of the question for at least 2009 and 2010.
Problem...
In reading the rules for posting in the rental/sales section FAQ it appears that folks who have...
1. Never rented out their points
2. Have a low post count on DIS
--- may be looked at with suspect when they try to rent or transfer points.
I have a 14 year positive Internet reputation, just not the reputation that is implied as desirable on DIS.
An observaiton...
It seems that it would be easier to just transfer the points from one member account to another, rather than the difficulties of doing a rental for someone else.
Is there a disadvantage to doing a transfer instead of a rental?
