Transfer questions

I've read the stated rules from DVC regarding transferring points but still had a couple questions.
We have points from 2 different resorts for our Dec '16 UY and all our '17 points from 3 contracts that we are considering transferring. Can you transfer points from different UYs, from different resorts? Secondly, none of our points are currently banked which I see is good as those can't be transferred. Can the owner who receives the points then bank them, or can they borrow points from our '17 UY? We've never transferred points before so it's stressful but we don't need them this year.

Banked or borrowed points cannot be transferred, but the recipient of regular points that have been transferred can bank them (but not borrow them). My understanding is that all your contracts have a December use year, then you have a December use year for all points regardless of having multiple resorts. If that is your situation, then you are entitled to one transfer of as many of those points you want to transfer per use year. Thus on the same day, you could transfer both Dec 2016 points (one or both resorts) and separatey Dec 2017 points (one or both resorts).

And to expand on this - you wouldn't be able to transfer points from one home resort to one owner and then from a different home resort to another owner. It would have to be all to one if you were planning on transferring them all.

Following up on what drusba and kat have stated, here are a couple of examples that should be possible:

Example 1 - You could transfer all Dec '16 UY points from 2 resorts to one owner, and all '17 points from 3 contracts to another owner.

Example 2 - You could transfer all Dec '16 and '17 points to one owner, who could bank the '16 points and use all transferred points combined in '17 UY.

But they could not borrow any transferred points. They can bank or use them.

Your 2016 points must be transferred into an account that is currently in the 2016 UY. So if the other person has a Feb, Mar or Apr UY, they are already in the 2017 UY.
