If I have points transferred into my account with a June 2012 use year can I book in February for a September reservation. In other words, would this be considered borrowing transferred points which is not permitted? I believe it is not borrowing since the reservation is in 2012. Somebody please let me know if I am understanding this correctly. Thanks.

A trip in September using June use year points (of the same year) wouldn't be borrowing.

June 2012 points are good for trips from June 2012 to May 2013 (if they are not borrowed or banked).

you really should read this post on Understanding Use Year, but here's the short version:

pts for a jun 2012 UY are valid for stays from jun 1, 2012 to may 31, 2013. a stay in sept 2012 is within the jun 2012 use year, so that stay would use "current" jun 2012 pts.

when you call to book is a non-issue where use year is concerned. you can book 11 months ahead with home resort pts or 7 months out with non-home resort pts.

you would be borrowing if you called in feb 2012 to book a stay in sept 2012 with pts from a 2013 june UY.

Thanks for your help. I have never rented any points before from another memor nor had any transferred to me. I just wanted to make sure I was understanding this correctly. I feel consident now to proceed with the transaction. Appreciate your help.
