Transfer Question

If I bank points into my next use year, can I transfer these points to another member? Also, if I am able to transfer these banked points, do I specify to member services that I want to transfer the banked points as opposed to my current use year points?

I believe the answer is NO, you can NOT transfer banked points.

Unless I'm mistaken (if so please correct {but not flame} me! ), to transfer points they have to be current year from the original membership. In other words, you can NOT transfer points that you already banked or borrowed.

However, once someone receives a transfer, they can bank those points once subject to the normal banking rules. The Use Year and Home Resort remain the same as what the original owner of the points had.

I agree with DVCGeek, you can't transfer banked points. So if you want to transfer them to another member for next year's use, you need to transfer them during this use year. And then the other member can bank them.

Yes, from my understanding, you can transfer current UY points, and the following UY points. It would count as your one per UY transfer for each.

So, I have a June UY. Right now, I could transfer both 2009 points (since that is the UY I am in and that would be my one and only for 2009) as well as my 2010 points (since that is my next UY and that would count for my one and only 2010 UY transfer).

Of course, those 2010 UY points would not be good until June 1st, 2010. And, there seems to be a lot of confusion about point transfers so sometimes people are allowed to do things that others are not.

But, you can definitely not transfer points once you bank them.

I was just in a similar situation last week. If you bank your current UY points you can't transfer them. You can transfer your next year points but they go into that UY. They can be used in their UY or banked, not borrowed.

If you transfer future uY points, they will go into the other member's future UY. And they won't be able to borrow them into the current UY.
