Historically it's case by case, basically when you need to for something you can't do otherwise and it uses the transfer for EACH master contract, not just because you want to and it's hit or miss. I presume these are 2 separate masters and when you say under one membership you're talking about being able to see each when you sign in to the webpage. IF they are separate contracts under one master, no transfer necessary.
