Can I do that?
We assigned a placeholder to one TA but now want to use another TA. Just a placeholder, no booking made with it yet. If yes, how is this done?

The first TA has to release the booking (placeholder). Be aware that some TAs charge a fee to do this.

I'm not sure how it works if you're past the original 30 days, though. If you make an onboard booking, you have 30 days to transfer it to a TA. Don't know if that is also a requirement for changing TAs, though. You should call DCL and ask them how to handle it.

What about staying with the same company, but changing to a different TA. Any insight with doing this. My original TA just isn’t a good fit.

Same answer. You'd need to call both DCL and the TA to see how that works, IF that works.

What about if you had a placeholder, booked the room direct, and now would transfer?

Does Costco or anyone give any credit OBC for this or no?

If you have a placeholder reservation OR an actual room reservation, it must be transferred to a TA within 30 days of making the reservation.

If you transfer a reservation within the 30 day window, any TA perks would, usually, be applicable. Now, in some cases a transferred reservation results in lower OBC than you'd get had you used/designated the TA when making the reservation in the first place.

dreams unlimited give obc when using a placeholder, but not sure of your situation. Their normal obc is $50 per $1000 of the cost of the cruise, but when you use a placeholder, they get less commission therefore gives you only half the obc. Example: if your cruise cost $4000 you get $200 obc, but if you use a placeholder you would only get $100 obc.
