Transfer Paper Issues

I have purchased some dark t-shirt iron-on ink jet transfer papers. When I did a test print on regular paper, the colors were bright and vibrant. When I did my first print on the transfer paper, the colors in the black Mickey ears not so much. Any ideas?

Alot of times, the color doesn't seem to really pop until you iron the transfer on - I think the heat of the iron does something magic. I would suggest ironing one on the shirt and see what it looks like. There is really no other way to tell.

Thanks. Looking at the image further, it's almost like the black from the Mickey head is bleeding into the text color.

Without seeing it, I am not sure what happened or if it will look nice when you iron it on.

Could it be that when you printed it, it used too much ink (like printing on the highest quality) and that the ink ran? Your word "bleeding" sounds to me like the ink is running but I do not know.

I typically always print on best and have not had that problem, so I am unsure.

Did your printer print the green neon like on the screen? I have heard others say that their printer will just not print that color - like it will print the green darker or more muted. I think that may be a computer or printer adjustment issue but I am not at all a computer expert.

Hopefully some of this will jog some ideas for you to try.

Yes, running is a good way of putting it. I did put a brand new ink cartridge in (there is a lot of black on those ears ). The green isn't as vibrant but not dull either.

Can you still read the name? I would say that if you can still read the name and it just doesn't look as vibrant - then it can't hurt to try ironing it on and seeing the result.

You have already used the transfer sheet - the only thing you may be out now is the tshirt if it doesn't turn out. Then at least you'll know if you can do the others or if you need to try changing something else.

You can still read the name. You can't read the text under it so well, Reunion '08.

I will try it on an old tee and see what happens.
