We are doing over 50 shirts, could I do all in the dark transfer?

What is the benefit of the light transfer paper?

Thanks in advance.

I think one benfit to light transfer paper is that it is less expensive but I would only use them on white shirts. I wouldn't use light transfer paper on anything darker than white. That is my own opinion. Others may feel differently about it.

I think that the dark transfers hold up much better than the light ones and the colors are more vibrant. I also would not use a light transfer on anything other than white, but I have used the dark transfers on white with no problems. I think that you are fine (and actually better off) using all dark transfers, though the light may be a little less expensive.

I agree with Beth. I'd only use dark transfers period. Even on white shirts. They are more money but I think they are worth it.

If you are doing t-shirts that are just basically black and white like the stick figures on white shirts does it matter if you use the light or dark.

I am making lots of shirts too with dark transfer paper and I have a silly question. Do I trim right around the endges so that there is no white showing if the design did not go all the way to the edges?

How big do people make their designs when making shirts for an adult XL t-shirt? Should I get paper bigger than 8 1/2 by 11?

Thanks!

I just did some non-DIS related t-shirts and used the dark transfer. they came out great. Ktgirl .. unless you have a professional printer or are having them printed by someone that has one getting lager paper more then likely wouldn't work .. most home based ink jet printer's will only hold 8 1/2 paper .. length on the other hand is another story but as far as the width goes it would probably be a waste of time and money to find out later .. as i said i did t-shirts with the darl transfer even though i was doing them on white t-shirts .. i did trim the designs but i wasn't meticulous about it .. and the shirts came out great. I agree with everyone that the dark transfers are a little more expensive but they are soo worth it .. the shirts i did have already been washed 3 times and i've had no problems so far .. Good luck with your shirts

What is I am transferring to grey shirts?

Light or dark transfer paper?

Thanks.

Paula:)

Everything I have read says that you are better off using dark vs. light. Although it is a bit more expensive you will be happier with them. I found them for the same price at Wal-Mart so I am using dark.

I never even thought to check wal-mart .. i just picked up the avery through Staples and i think i paid more then i should have but after reading all the reviews on here about the different brands i was only going to trust the avery or HP transfer paper after my mishap on the trial run .. i will tell you this .. don't bother with the wilton transfer paper .. that was my mistake with the trial run .. Good gluck to everyone with their prints and ironing :D
