Transfer onboard booking to DU. Lose $200.00 credit???

I have a question about transfering our cruise reservation. While onbaord the Magic Jan 04 we rebooked for Jan 05 getting the 10% discount and a 200.00 stateroom credit. I got a quote from DU today and their price is less than DCL. I was told that if I transfer my reservation to DU I would lose the 200.00 onboard credit from DCL. I thought I have read other posts that said they were able to keep their 200.00 credit and get the lower price form the different TA. Anyone know about this.

Why's the price so much lower than what DCL gave you? That might be the reason if it's some type of special. For example if a Florida resident discount comes out, you can transfer your ressie to the discount but lose the on board credit. Just curious if there's a special out there we don't know about.

Since you've mentioned that the DU price was lower than DCL's, it's most likely a group space. Disney Cruise Line's policy is that no other discount or credit is applicable.

If you want to transfer the reservation as is, you can retain your SBC and get the Dreams rebate. Since DU provides that, it's not subject to any restrictions.

I suggest contacting the agent who provided the quote and ask about the options that you have.

I believe their is a difference between rebooking and transfering a reservation. Transfering allows you to keep the DCL rate and the Stateroom credit and access to the DU rebate. However if you rebook then you lose the DCL stateroom deal. The DU rep I spoke to said he could not beat the DCL rate and that I should transfer the reservation to access their rebate and retain the DCL price and Stateroom credit. Not sure how he beating your price, but I guess you have to weigh the lower rate and rebate vs the DCL price and the stateroom credit.
