transfer of reservations

We booked a 7 day with DCL in October for 4/05 during our cruise and have read alot on these boards about transferring ressies to ta's. I am wondering what are the pros and cons of doing this since I am new to early booking I am wondering if this is something we should do. We usually book our cruise 2 mos in advance.

we booked our 7-10-04 cruise on our past cruise this summer and then i found out the same sail date was being offered by AAA. we had a cat 11 booked with DCL and found that transferring our res. to AAA we were able to book a cat. 8 for the same price as the cat. 11 plus we now receive all the perks from AAA, free soda pagage, luggage tags, travel bag and 10% off in the gift shop on board, seemed like a good deal to me.
