Is it OK to take your one day theme park pass to guest services and upgrade to purchase tickets for your other children? (adult) Is there a name on it?

Having a name on it depends on where you got the ticket originally. If it's on your resort ID, then yes it will have a name on it. If you bought it that day at the front gate, then no name will be on it.

According to the general rules, unused tickets are transferable. I am not aware of any fine print to the contrary.

On your next vacation a room key from the past with unused or unexpired park admission is nothing more than an admission ticket. It will not (should not) open any room doors and may not be presented for free dining or charging of purchases.

OT: Still, magnetic stripe tickets should not be purchased from unofficial sources especially eBay and also including friends since there is no way to determine that they have value remaining let alone being unused.

I know I have to ask them to separate the ticket from my room key anyway because I have an AP. My choice would then be to save it for another time (no expiration till it's activated and it's only a one day) or turn it over to upgrade. Would it have a name on it when they separate it? Probably not but I'm curious. I don't think it matters as long as it is paid for and added to an upgrade but I don't want to violate any rules.

I think if it's an unused ticket then ANYONE can use it. I could buy a ticket for you as a gift. What's illegal in Florida has to do with selling partially used MULTI-DAY passes.

Was the one day ticket given to you as a gift or did you purchase it for one of your children ? Maybe this link could help you http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/tickets/ticketsLandingPage?id=TicketsLandingPage and you could try to contact Disney about this. On the link I sent you at the bottom of the page there is a contact button and if you click on that it tells you how to submit your online question and a Disney agent should get back with you.

Also if you have a cell phone where you can get free calls after whatever time until whatever time you could always try calling Disney. I called a Disney Resort and they where able to help me with ticket questions so that is an idea. Or you can ask them to connect you to a cast member who could help you with your ticket question.

Good luck :)
