Transfer of Hilton Head Points

We recently purchased 182 Hilton Head points and had them transferred into our account. We
own Beach Club in our home resort with a Feb use year and wanted to take advantage of the 11 month window to make a ressie for next June at Hilton Head. When we called today to make sure the points were transferred we were told that we could not use the 11 month window because our home resort is Beach Club. The MS person we spoke to said she checked with a supervisor and nothing could be done -- unless we wanted to transfer the points back and have the person who orginally had them make the ressie for us in July. Has anyone ran into this problem and is there a way around it.

Not quite the same problem but what you are saying sounds familiar. I rented some BCV points and had them transferred into my account. When I called to make the reservation I was told no because they had been transfered into my VWL account (same use year but different contract number). After being put on hold quite a few times and much discussion, the CM finally moved them to my BCV contract so that I could use them at the BCV's with the 11 month booking window. Luckily for me I owned at BCV so it didn't turn out quite like your situation.

One of the things that has been discussed here is the limitations of the DVC computer system, especially when it comes to transfers.

I would persist if I were you. Check your papers for the exact wording on transfers and keep trying. I don't have the papers in front of me but I always thought transfered points retained their use year and home resort priority.

Unfortunately the DVC computer system just can't track use year and home resort of transferred points. I've not heard of anyone successful in getting around this issue in spite of what the legal paperwork says. Let us know what happens please.

I am assuming you purchased these 182 HH points as a one time rental from another member. If so, can the points be returned to them and then they can make the ressie at HH in your name? (Not sure of the original use yr. of the HHpts.)

I was told that if you want to keep them as HH points, they can make a notation in your membership that these are HH points, and then you need to get a supervisor before you can use the 11-month window to book at HH. (Never went through this though, I was happy with where the points ended up at and did not bother that the home resort was changed (originally was WLV points)

If I were you, I would call them back, you may get a different answer from a different CM.
