Transfer Luggage from Magic to Orlando Airport

When you leave the ship at the end of the cruise and return to the Orlando airport - where do you pick up your luggage at Orlando? Do you wait at the bus or do they forward it to the Airlines?

We just sailed in January. When you leave the ship, you will find your bags in the lower area of the cruise terminal. They are picked up at your room the night before, and then sorted by cabin number for you to find. They do this because you have to go through customs with them. There are porters there to take your bags to the DCL buses that take you to the airport. After that, they are yours to deal with. We have sailed twice, and this has been our experience. We did purchase the transfers both times. It is a nice service, but it really only works best in that we did not see our bags from when we left Chicago until they arrived in our stateroom. Hope this helps.

I forgot to add that we flew United. There are some carriers that do move your luggage for you on the way back. If you call DCL, they should tell you which ones. I remember Delta being one of them.

Let's see if I can remember some of the airlines that check bags at the cruise port.


Delta
Continental
American
US Air

There may be more but I think I remember these ones. It was great because we had 6:30 pm flight on Continental and were able to check our bags in at 9:30 am and not seem them again until we got to Newark!!! We rented a one-way car from Avis at the Radisson and spent the day at downtown Disney and did not have to worry about luggae being left in the car, and the fact that all would not have fit!!!

What concerns me is that we are returing to the Orlando airport but not flying out till the following day (Sunday) We will want to make sure to connect with our luggage and not have the luggage delivered to the airlines.
