Does anyone have any observations / preferences between getting a shuttle transfer from CDG and getting the TGV.

Looking at prices (for 4) the TGV is looking about £40 cheaper and should be faster. But is it really, once you've taken into account getting to the TGV from Terminal 2 arrivals, waiting for the train, getting to the hotel from the station etc? We've never been to CDG before, but I understand it's extremely big?

I'm thinking that if a shuttle driver meets you at arrivals and takes you to the hotel door there won't be much in it in terms of door to door time and it should bec easier and more convenient?

ive been looking @ prices for our march trip, and got a better price with rstransport than anything / anyone else !

its not usually much faster going by TGV, even from terminal 2, over a private shuttle.
However, its no hassle going by TGV, and if its cheaper and the train times suit our flight arrival time, I prefer to go by TGV. From terminal 2B with hand luggage, I can get to the TGV platforms, also in terminal 2, in 25 minutes, from my arrival gate. So if there is a suitable TGV scheduled to leave CDG within an hour of my flight arrival time, I usually book the TGV.
And its definitely the quickest way of getting back from DLP to CDG :).

This past trip though, because the TGV times didn't suit and were at peak time, so a more expensive fare, I booked shared shuttle with rstransports for the CDG-DLP journey (which we didn't share with anyone, so no hanging around at the airport), then took the TGV back to the airport on our last day. This worked out cheaper and quicker for both legs of the journey for us.

If you pre-book the TGV and your flight is delayed, can you get a later train, even with a booked in advance non-amendable ticket?

strictly speaking, no, you can't, if you have a non-amendable ticket its for one specific train only.
