How can I tranfer my booking to a CAA TA after I made my initial deposit. Do I need to contact WDW directly. DH wants the AAA diamond card. Is it too late for my TA to get commission on the sale?

Any advise would be great. Thanks

I would call CAA and ask their advise. They would know best.

Hey..

Transferring your booking to CAA is easy, but you have to do it in person. I presume you have booked with CAA before and you know your agent at least a little bit - that helps.

Anyway - take a printed copy of your confirmed reservation number and the Disney reservation details that Disney has sent to you (via email I wil assume - doesn't matter as long as it is all the documentation) and give them to your CAA agent. Most ( not all) CAA agencies now have one agent that has taken the Disney training course.

The CAA agent will then print off a written disclosure of information and transfer of proxy form for you to sign.

They will then send it off to Disney ( via mail) and then they take ownership of your travel portfolio - when it is returned

Now - here is the catch - and it is not a big one - you CANNOT no longer phone Disney yourself to add extra codes or change the actual reservation details - you no longer own the trip CAA does. That is not as big a deal as it seems. Just keep looking for any applicable codes etc, then phone you CAA agent and have them phone Disney to apply them - just one extra step that is all.

MY STRONG advice is however to have EVERYTHING completed as much as you can to your complete satisfaction before you hand it over to CAA - not that they are incompetant - hardly - they are one of the best TA's in Canada - it is just that you are just one of the customers. So if there is a timed code( not very likely) or a personal code you have been sent directly you cannot use it .

Now, before you ask that does not apply in any way to ADR's they are still yours- you can get the CAA TA to make them , but it is unecessary.

I have done this many times in the past - basically they really like it - you do all the leg work, get the codes, the dates, the resort - fix it your name, then they take over and get the kickback from Disney you can't get..but you still get whay you want PLUS all the CAA/AAA extras like preferrred parking etc..

If you get any grief from you CAA travel agent about this - phone the CAA head office and they will confirm...

BTW before I forget - you must have made the $200 deposit in your name first and basically bought the booking or all this doen not apply.

drcanton, thanks for your detailed reply.

Another big reason for changing my ressie over is because Disney has closed down all their 800 #'s and I refuse to call long distance. So I am protesting by making Disney pay my TA some commissions instead! ;)

My TA mentioned something about cancelling my current ressie and rebooking. But my only concern is losing my free dining room at POP.

Perhaps she thinks it's too much trouble. Maybe I should find a new Disney TA.

That is so much baloney...this is CAA you are dealing with right??? If you cancel and rebook you will loose you queue lenght for the rooms..yea I know disney says there is not a queue - don't believe them..

Just tell them to take it over AS IT IS..obviously this CAA region has not had the Disney training goop..IF you want to PM me. I can give you the location of my own CAA TA and they can phone each other and clear up this foolishness...

Or just take my response into them..

Yes. She is suppose to be a " Disney" TA from CAA. I have had 2 bookings with her in the past. I tell her exactly what we want and she just books it. Half the time my room requests are not even noted. She even chuckled that I booked free dining on the first day. I'm going to check out another CAA location near my DH work in Toronto.

Any CAA "Disney" TA's out there that are DIS members too?
