trans. from resorts to universal

We're staying at the Old Key West resort the week of Oct. 7th through the 12th. Does anyone know of any transporation in the area to Univeral Studios? Thanks for any help!!

There is a Mears shuttle with regularly scheduled stops at the resorts. We have taken it several times. It is always on time in the morning...coming back in the evening, we've usually had to wait a little, but not an unreasonable amount of time. It sure beats driving! We never rent a car, just rely on Disney transit around WDW, Mears to go to Universal, and Happy Limo to head back and forth to the airport.

We used Tiffany Town Car to shuttle between CR and Universal. Its more expensive than Mears, but you set the times for being picked up. TTC was right on time for us bothways and the driver was very good.

How much for Mears from All STar Movies to Universal? Will they get us there before opening and be there right after closing??? I looked on the web site for Mears and tryed to find the cost but it said you first must make your reservation from the airport. Do we have to have reservation from the airport to get them to Universal? How far ahead of time do we make reservations?

Have you looked into renting a car/van? It's probably cheaper than shuttling back and forth between the airport, resorts, and Universal. Have a great time!!!

We really dont want to rent a car. We have rented one for the past 3 trips and would prefer to just either get Tiffany or Mears. We are going to use either Tiffany or Happy Limo for our transportation to and from the airport and are wondering about what to use to go to Universal. Really dont like the hustle and bustle of driving to and fro places and it would be more relaxing to us to have someone drive us........from a person who does not like to drive.

I just got back from my Florida trip & used Mears to transport us from Old Key West to Universal & then back again. They charged $12 a person round trip so the price isn't bad at all. I do have a complaint about them though. They never showed to pick us up on the morning we made reservations for. We called & they basically said, "Oops, sorry about that" and they sent a taxi to pick us up. Meanwhile, we ended up getting to the park an hour later than we had originally planned. The return trip went fairly smooth however. We called about an hour before we wanted to leave & reserved our shuttle. Mears has the monopoly of transportation there so it's hard not to use them. We used American Luxury Transportation to pick us up to & from the airport and we were very happy with them. Good luck & have fun!
