Tranportation from AKL

Hi...

I was just wondering. We are staying at the AKL and we are planning on visiting a number of restaurants at other hotels. My question is... does disney provide direct transporation to the other hotels from the AKL or do we have to take the bus to one of the parks and then transfer to anther bus/monorail? We are planning on visiting restaurants at the Contemporary, Polynesian, Saratoga and Wilderness.

I understand that its simple to jsut take the monorail to the Contemporary and Polynesian from the MK...am I on the right track?

Enjoy the AKL it is great. You are on the right track. You will need to take the buses to a park and then on to the resorts. So you will want to build in a goodly amount of time for transfers - remember the buses only come around every 20 minutes (so if you miss one you could ultimately be waiting 40 minutes in addition to the time on the bus/monorail. From the MK you can walk to the Contemporary (a nice 10 minute walk) or take the resort monorail or even the boat if you like. From MK to the Poly you can take the resort monorail or boat. On a nice evening we often would take the boat back to the MK.

For the wilderness you can also take the bus to MK and then walk/take the resort monorail to the Contemporary and then take the boat that leaves from behind the hotel and goes to the WL. Or of course get on the bus to the WL directly from MK.

I've never tried to get to the Saratoga but I'd guess you'd want the DTD bus.

As you can see though, we like to take our time and enjoy the various transport options Disney provides to make an evening complete. Sometimes if we time it right we can even see the fireworks from a boat ride.

There is also a boat directly from MK to WL.

We're thinking about AKV for an upcoming trip and transportation is one of our bigger questions. It seems like meals at the MK area resorts wouldn't be too much of a pain, but getting to the Epcot resorts would be a bit tougher/more time consuming.
