Going down for the 24 Hour event and trying to get cheap hotels from already very booked hotels at the moment, looking at Stovells Best Western or the very cheap Alamo, which does not look all that appealing (if you have been here please give me advice) and know that my feet are going to be killing me and walking back and forth may be too much. Can you take the Tram that picks up in DT Disney to the Parking Lot that backs up to Katella to help cut your walk, can anyone get on the tram can only certain people take that tram and how often does it run? I may be by myself and I won't have anyone cheering me on with all the walking. I have already decided I need to get serious about my exercise program between now and then to gear up for the event.

The tram goes from DTD to the parking structure on Magic Way. There are buses that run from near the Esplanade to the Toy Story Lot (which is adjacent to Katella). You can ride the bus without having parked at the lot.

Hey purple figment. Are you related in anyway to figment jii? ;) No, really. Lol :faint:

I have stayed at the Alamo. It was race weekend and we stayed there solely for the proximity to the start/finish line, and the price, and I waited too long to book other hotels. BUT......I would suggest Best Western Stovalls over the Alamo any day!! If it is going to be a trip that all you do is sleep at the hotel, then maybe. The walls were a little dirty, The bedding had been updated but the bathroom hadn't been updated in MANY years, it wasn't real clean. It was quiet though, and we had a room that a window faced Katella. It was fairly quiet on that side compared to lots of pedestrians on Harbor side of Hotels. The walk wasn't too bad to DTD. The walk is actually very nice once you are on Disneyland Drive. It is beautifully landscaped. We would walk to the monorail most days and ride that in. Or cut through the Grand on our way to DCA. It was 2 adults, not sure if small kids could handle that much walking every day.

ETA: The Parking lot is RIGHT across the street from the Alamo. You would have to walk down to the light (on West/Disneyland Drive) to cross the street to walk over to get to the parking lot. Stovalls is closer to the light. I am not sure where the tram is in the parking lot, we never used it when we were there.

Little kids can just ride piggy back style on adults shoulders. Hopefully, they won't pull your hair. Lol
Or take strollers.

The parking lot across Katella from the Alamo and Stovalls is not the parking lot served by the tram. There is no transportation back and forth from this lot. It's not a terrible walk to this area from the parks but depending how many times you plan to go back and forth between the room and the parks it could get old.
