I only did the Sea World Trainer for the Day. Although it didn't sound that enticing on paper, the experience was breathtaking and so much happened during the 9 to 5 schedule. Only two people can participate in this program per day, but it's worth it. My partner and I started the day being greeted by a SW trainer and then, we were escorted to a trailer, where we received our training uniform (wet suit and water booties). Then the trainer drove us to Shamu Stadium, where we learned about the killer whales and then interacted with a couple (Taima and Unna). Then, we watched the first Shamu show and awarded the whales whenever they did something right. After Shamu Stadium, we went behind Shamu's Happy Harbor to the Special Programming building. This building takes care of the various animals not usually seen in the park. They had different eagles, falcons, servals, an anteater, and other animals who make special appearences around the park. Then we ate lunch. After lunch, we went to the Sea Lion and Otter Stadium and learned how the trainers care for and train the walruses, sea lions, and otters used in the Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island show each day. then we interacted with Gilbert, one of the eight sea lions who play the parts of Seamore and Clyde. We weren't lucky enough to meet Slowpoke the walrus, but you might if they're not hectic. Then we watched one of the sea lion shows from backstage. Quite a different perspective. Then, we were relieved from duty and escorted to the Key West Stadium, where we helped train false killer whales and Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins. We also got in the water with one of the false killer whales and hugged it. Unbelievable. There's a lot more to the experience than what I'm telling you, but it's quite an eye-opener for someone who wants to train whales when they get out of college (me). I loved this experience and wouldn't trade it for anything. It's well worth it and I don't think you'll ever be bored during this program. I wasn't. hope I helped you out.
