I'm sure that it has been posted somewhere, but I have not found it in a thread as of yet. But does anyone know the anticipated date the train will be back up and operating? TIA

As far as I can recall seeing, the best guess at this point is Spring of 2017. I've seen a few rumors pegging the date in early April, but it's all speculation at this point.

Some sources have speculated April but there is nothing official or confirmed beyond being down "about a year" starting Jan 2016.

Thank you. Have two trips planned, November and January. It will be weird not being able to ride it.

Yeah, I missed the train on my last few trips too! It was a nice way to see the park without having to walk!

It looks like in New Orleans Square station they have a train there, along with some history. The telegraph is still going. Maybe that's where the whistle is coming from. I will be glad when it's back up and running.

If you go to the train at New Orleans station you can learn some information about how they run and they will let you pull a whistle. That's probably the sounds you heard. It's very interesting and I enjoyed being able to walk on the back side of the station where the telegraph office is.

Oh man, fair dinkum, we will miss the trains AGAIN!!!!

They were down for our first visit last year and we were hoping, praying and crossing everything that they would be back running for our next visit.

Gonna have to start saving really really hard to go back a third time to see both the fireworks (rumoured to to stopped for 6mths) and ride this train. Fair dinkum I can certainly pick em!!!

Have you gone and seen the trains in the stations?

Trains are some of my favorites too. I looking forward to getting a close up and personal look at them in Oct.

We didn't know you could just go to the train stations. We might do that next year.

We didn't see them at all last year. It was our first ever visit and didn't even know where the station was. Thinking back now, I can't remember ever seeing it. I remember knowing they were not running, Se we didn't even try to find them.

EDITED TO ADD - ok, looking at pictures I found the station, has the big Mickey Mouse head infront on the garden area. We saw that place but no trains. We did ride the mono rail though.

So there are two stations 'running' (for the next time you go if the trains aren't running). The first is Main St station. That's the one at the entrance and is accessible from Main St USA. The other is Frontierland Station/New Orleans Station. It's right beside the Haunted Mansion. Both should have trains to see and engineers to chat with.

If you are interested, there are two more stations (currently closed). ToonTown/Fantasyland station which is to the left of the entry to ToonTown and Tomorrowland station which is between Autopia and the Star Wars meet and greet building.

The monorail is awesome. I ride that each trip too.

Thank you so much for that, we will check them out for sure. They were closed for refurb last year. So atleast if not running we will still get to see them next year,

Agree with the mono rail, it was was amazing.

Thanks again and have a great day.

I was planning on having that train available in October, because it's one of the few rides where you can pack a ton of people together for awesome group photos and video. I can probably still do it on Jungle Cruise or Monorail at least... Are there any other rides with this kind of benefit that I'm overlooking? Slow moving, lots of family members and friends, max picture opportunities without rickety/shaking/blurring.

You might like to try the Mark Twain...

But keep in mind that the trains are still available to visit and you can get photos on the carriages and with the engines... Also, the train station at NOS is available to cross the tracks over to and you light be able to get photos there too.

What about trying one of the Main Street vehicles? I don't know how large your group is, but you could get some good photos there I think.
