Has anyone eaten here this month? I read a very negative review on another website dated 7/14/08. We are camping at the Fort next month and had planned on eating here several times and also doing take-out at least once. Anyone had food from here or at Hoop Dee Doo in the past few weeks?

We just ate there last Wed. There were 8 in our party and each one thought it was very good and would go back again. We were staying at the Pop and went out for dinner and the movie. Missed the movie because of rain but really enjoyed the dinner and boat ride.

We ate there last Wednesday also and enjoyed the dinner. I had read the review on AllEars and was a little discouraged but found that it was totally opposite from what that person had experienced. I am a very picky eater and enjoyed the meal completely. We are going to the Hoop Dee Do tonight and are looking forward to it.

A little bit older, but we had an excellent meal there in May!

I also had a good experience in May. This is not a high-end place so if you go in expecting one, you would be disappointed. But the buffet is fine and there are lots of choices for a price that is less than other buffets in the world.

I met a very intelligent 11 year old there who kindly walked me throught the whole set up because they had been at the Fort all week. If you go in expecting a nice meal but nothing fancy, you'll be fine.

We ate here in Dec 2006 and the food was just outstanding. We had a ressie just after opening about 4:30pm I believe and all the hot food was hot and the cold food (salad, jello) was cold, and the sweet tea was even better.

I think I might have read the same review you read and have been thinking twice about cancelling my Dec ressie. I think I will watch that thread for a little whil longer and see what the outcome is.

DW and I and a friend ate there in May. It was our 2nd time there. Our 1st time was back in Oct of 07. We loved it and it will be a place we will always book when we are at WDW. I love there Fried Chicken and Ribs :cool1: I think you will love it tooooo.

We ate there July 4th and thought the food was very good.

Remember Disney serves a lot of people there is no way everyone is going to "love" all the food all the time. I have never had any food at WDW that was awful. Sometimes not stellar but not bad either.

If you read the other thread, this one would make more sense. Trails End was apparently trying out a lower quality of food than is normally sold there and some of the regulars were talking about how bad it was.

Personally, if you have eaten the "new" chicken nuggets they are serving instead of the old chicken strips, you would be saying that. Those nuggets are horrible and didn't allow me to enjoy my eating experience in June. I have cravings for WDW chicken strips, but not as long as those nuggets are around.

Honestly, not sure what's up with that review- I've eaten there more times than I can count over the last 10 years- breakfast, lunch, and dinners- never walked out disappointed. Best priced, love the whole feel, friendly staff, great food. I can't see anyone could be disappointed.

there have been enough recent visitors reporting back that the change is for the better and the food is good. One review, in and of itself, is not always the best barometer.

Thanks to all the posters. What it really funny is that my DH found the similar thread on the camping boards and he posted on that one!

I figure that even if the food is not as good as it had been, we are on vacation and I did not cook it or have to clean up. :thumbsup2

My DS8 said that the day we see HDDR he is not eating lunch to leave more room for the chicken and ribs.

1) Trail's End is not Fine Dining.
2) But, the food is good.
3) It is what you expect from a moderately priced restaurant.
4) FW is a true campground, so they need to feed the camping people.
5) The eatery serves comfort food, and does this well.
