We are going to DW in September for our first MNSSHP. We wanted a leisurely day on the 21st and was looking for a good place to eat. I had read on LaLa's trip report that this place was very good and they had sweet tea. Now me being from AL sweet tea is a necessity to every day life, so when we go to DW and can't have it for a week it's pretty bad. So bad that as soon as we get back we each drink a lot of sweet tea, not just a few glasses, a whole jug, you know those orange gatorade jugs you see at construction sites.:rotfl: Back on the subject...do they still have sweet tea and is it good to a Southern girls standard (I know that's hard to answer). Is the food good also? Also is lunch or dinner better? Being that the party is at night we were looking at lunch. I can't really notice a difference, is there one? Thanks for all the help.

I can't answer your sweet tea question but Trails End is great. We ate lunch there one day and then dinner a couple days later. Lunch is usually less busy so you can walk up and get a table pretty quick. But you must do the call ahead reservation for dinner. We walked up there at 7pm and never got seated until 8:30pm :scared1:. But, I must say, the food was worth the wait.:thumbsup2

We have ADR's for Trail's End the first night of our trip. My DS15 wanted to go here. Most of the reviews I've seen for this place have been good.:)

It is truly a hidden gem of WDW. They serve same food as HDDR, great fried chicken. Breakfast buffet is good too!

This is actually a great story. Three years ago, my whole family went to WDW for Christmas. A lady my brother works with gave him a coupon book she bought in the 70s that had coupons in it for different places such as a visit to Discovery island (closed), Tangaroa Terrace (closed), and a few other places that no longer exist. The only place in the book that was still open was Trails end Buffet. The coupon was for two free breakfast buffets. So, one morning we all headed over for breakfast. My brother thought he would try to use the coupon, but if they didn't take it, no big deal, he would just pay. When he gave the coupon to the waitress and explained the situation, she was astonished to see something so old. She took it to the back, and it was quickly passed around to all the other CMs. The manager came out, wanted to know the story, laughed and said the coupon was older than she was. She then went on to say that she would be glad to accept it since there was no expiration date on it. We had a great time tyring to use the coupon and was shocked that they actually took it.

Anyway, to answer your question. We have had breakfast at TEB three times and LOVE it!!! We have had luch there once and wasn't too crazy about it, but to each there own. I would definately recommend it.

Because they have the same food as HDDR is the reason my DS picked this restaurant. I told my two kids and my DH we could all pick a restaurant and my DS picked HDDR, which we had just done 2 years ago. I didn't want to go again to HDDR (gonna try the Luau this time) this soon, so we are going to Trail's End so he can have his HDDR fried chicken.:thumbsup2

We stayed at the campground last summer, and did have reservations to Trails End. After walking past it everyday to get to the boat, we decided we had to try it (smelled so good :) ) On our last night we walked up to the podium and were were surprisingly seated for dinner (6:30 ish) family of 5. I was really surprised because we do so many reservations and hardlr ever just walk into a place.

The food was excellant, something for everyone in my picky family ;)

To answer your question on the sweet tea, YES it will absolutely satisfy you. My DW is a sweet tea girl, and she likes it.

There's some Disney :wizard:

Disney iced tea is the same across the property. Having lived in NC, I would have guessed that Disney tea isn't "real" sweet-tea. It's iced tea that you can sweeten yourself.

But Trail's End definitely gets my vote. I love that place. Great value, too.
