Does anyone know if you have to make an ADR for Trail's end? We are considering going for dinner and then staying for the campfire/movie afterwards. Has anyone done this? We thought this would be a nice break in our touring plan. Also, looking at the map ot looks like we can take the boat from MK to get to Fort Wilderness, but it looks like a pretty long walk to the campfire site. Do they have a bus that runs to the campfire site? Thought's and suggestions welcome.

There is an internal bus system for Fort Wilderness. I am not sure exactly which color line you need to take to get to the campfire movie...however if you ask this question in the camping board there are plenty of folks who know exactly how to get you there and back to your resort. :thumbsup2

You can take either the orange or yellow Outpost bus to get to the campfire just tell the bus driver where you are going and he will let you know where to get off. He will also help you get back to your resort by telling you how and where to go.
The Trails End does take reservationsand. It will keep you from waiting if you make one. Have fun at the Fort.

For dinner I would make an ADR it can get busy. You can take the internal bus I believe the Orang flag bus but just ask the driver and he will direct you also all the routes are posted a each bus stop. You will love this. Trails End is a great place to enjoy a good meal.

For dinner I always make an ADR. Making them are easy, getting there and having an 1 hours wait, not so easy. Last year we headed over via the boat and after getting there we were told the wait was 1 - 2 hours!!! (This was during a not so busy time, the first week of February.) They had just seated a party of 30 and a party of 18. We were staying at the WL and it would've taken 5 minutes to check at the front desk and make an ADR but didn't and had to pay the price. By the time we got back to WL it was late and asked about getting a table for 2 at WCC, and it was filled for the night. So grabbed a quick meal from roaring forks and headed to our room. So for me, I call it a lesson learned. We make an ADR, even if it's just from our resort desk before heading over even for lunch now. You don't really need an ADR at the 180 window, just inquire before going. However we have a group of 9 going next month and I did make an ADR for dinner, since we are a larger size party.

Thank you all for your responses. I am going to call tomorrow and try to get an ADR.
