Trails End ends lunch buffet

hoping this doesn't stay. I will be there may, 2011, and want to go to the lunch buffet. Hope they change it back.

They could be testing this because lunch typically isn't a big meal time at the Fort. They may have been losing a lot of money preparing a buffet and then not having many guests. I'd rather see them go to menu dining than close for lunch completely. There aren't a lot of spots to get food at the Fort in the first place. This isn't the first time they've tried something new for lunch. Wasn't it last year that they tried the "cold" buffet with mostly sandwich stuff and maybe a soup or two?

I was really disappointed in offerings at Fort Wilderness. What they need to do is maybe turn Trail's End into a counter service at lunch time and do menu service the rest of the time. Take out is fine but lack of a counter service at this resort makes me not really want to stay there - and that is unfortunate because I found it to be quite adorable.

Been expecting this. Lunch was the only time we would go and the last few times it was empty. We were one of 4 tables during our lunch meal. Plus the price has gone up alot! This use to be a great bargain for us, but we decided then that we would not return. I believe it was $18 for lunch and thought that was too much. Our lunch bill for our party of 6 was higher than our lunch bill for both LeCellier and 50s Prime Time during that trip.

I really liked their salad bar, but I'd definitely be willing to try the a la carte menu during our November trip!
