Hi,
We will be going to the Fort in November for a week. We were there last year at the same time. We were very disappointed in Trails End. I know at the time i was reading here that a lot of people were complaining it wasn't that good and too expensive. Now I have been reading some reviews and people are pretty happy with it.
Has anyone been recently? What did they have for breakfast and for dinner?
Do you think it was worth it for the money?

Years ago We used to love this place but saw it going down hill over time and I really hope it is better than last Oct.
Any info would be appreciated

Thanks
Bette

We were there in December and the buffet was well stocked and everyone in our party enjoyed it. I think it is a little expensive, but I'm not a real bigger eater. If you eat a good bit, then it's probably not that bad a price.

Eh.....I don't think it's worth it. There are other buffet's at WDW that are much better, such as O'Hana's (not a buffet per se, but AYCE dinner and very good), Cape May, Boma's, The Crystal Palace, just to name a few.

Trail's End is mediocre, at best. Now, the Giddy Up and Go Chicken take out dinner is worth every cent!! :thumbsup2

I agree 100% . The Giddy up and Go chicken takeout is really good. Sometimes the fries get soggy, if they are in the bucket for a long time.

And I also agree that Trails Ends buffet is only average at best. And WAY overpriced for what you get. We stopped getting the buffet a couple of years ago. But we still get takeout sometimes.

They really need a counter service or food court like the value resorts !

Thanks for the in-put. I didn't really mind the breakfast too much but don't think the dinner was that good. Not worth the money for sure.
I guess we will play it by ear when we get there

Thanks
Bette

I have to say the entire great restaurants at WDW stop to being great when they started the FREE Dinning plan. Trails end and O'Hana's had more Items on the menu but cut back on about on 8 or more Items just to cut cost

that was our experience doing one lunch and one dinner the week before Easter this year. Although it is in line relative to all the other expensive food prices at WDW. I didn't like that they raised the price even more during the week before Easter because I'm sure the food was the same. Lunch was a worse deal IMHO due to fewer choices although the waitress found my DS a corn muffin when he asked why there weren't any out. That being said, we did have a good time there because we were at WDW so the negativity of the experience was less noticable than if we'd eaten the same food at the same price somewhere else.

I have to say that I think Trail's End is pretty good, especially in comparision to many of the other restaurants available at WDW. When you also consider the relative value, and I stress relative, as the cheapest buffet at WDW, its one of my preferred restaurants. Its also awefully convenient to us and our campsite.

I won't deny that there are some very good dining alternatives in WDW, but there are also some very lousy restaurants, too. For my money, I'd rate Trail's End very highly.

We were there in June for dinner and the food was awful. Way over priced and not much of a selection. We walked out feeling ripped off for the price and quality of the food.

For the most part, it is the seasoned Disney diner who got to experience the food at Disney restaurants being fun, good food with great menu's and then turn into less desirable eating establishments,,the Trails End being one of those.
The seasoned diner are the ones you read complaining about the food at Trails End.
People who are new at try'n the Disney restaurants (Trails End) only experience the "NOW" and there fore think the foods are wonderful.

At one time Disney had some of the very best and finest foods I have ever eat'n,,
those days are LONG gone.

just my opinion.

Disney food has gone down hill compared to what it used to be.

We used to enjoy Trail's End. At this point, I refuse to eat dinner there. We will still eat breakfast there, but basically only out of tradition and the fact that we're suckers for some Mickey waffles.

I've wanted to try Trail's End lunch since they changed it, but can't seem to actually make myself fork over the money just to satisfy curiosity...

Does anyone remember the pizza they used to serve a few years back? It was mainly for take-out. Talk about eating a piece of cardboard.

We got it once or twice back in the day.

After one bite, I opted to go hungry.

We got it the second time thinking, "It MUST be a fluke that it was THAT bad."

Nope. It was just THAT bad. :rotfl:

The crap trails end is trying to pawn off as pizza today would make chef Boyardee sick and you have to go along way for that

Anyone else miss the old Crocketts Tavern?

Trails End seems to be getting worse with time. The food is alright, but definitely nothing to write home about.

I went on ebay and found an old Mickey Waffle Maker. It solved my problem of going to Trails End for breakfast. Now that it is stored in the trailer, it has become a tradition for me to make waffles for all the kids (Ms. Gus's, Stacktester's, The Miller's, etc) during our stay in the summer. I doubt it will change next year.

I remember getting an invite for some Mickey waffles but they were gone or something. I'm not gonna believe this story until I've seen them on my plate.

If you got up before 1pm you could have had Mickey waffles and Trails End food is still going down hill
