I am wondering what this place looks like. Is it like a food court/cafeteria or more like a buffet restaurant (like CM and CP)? Do they use real plates or plastic? I have looked on wdwig, but there are no pictures. Thanks!

It buffet and kind of rustic. If you've seen pics of the Hoop Dee Doo, it's very similar.

Tinplates, jars for glasses...it's fun.

We eat there at least once every trip.

Is it very hard to get to? Way back when we tried to get to Discovery Island and gave up because it was taking so long with the busses, boats, etc. Can you actually drive to Trails End?

No parking at Trail's End, you can easily get there from the MK, though, by taking the FW boat and then it is a 2 minute walk from the dock. If you are driving you'll have to take an internal FW bus.

We love Trail's End. We also try to eat there every trip! We usually stay at the CR, so we just take the boat launch over there. It's a pleasant and easy ride!

This place is one of the best kept secrets of WDW! The price is low and food is good. So far we've only had breakfast there but would love to try lunch or dinner sometime.

My son loves riding the busses, and since we stayed offsite this time (needed the space) we made sure to ride the busses at Ft. Wilderness. We drove there (thrught the magic kingdom gates, stay to the right, take 1st right & follow the signs). You can't park at the far end of the campground, but you can park by the entrance and take an internal bus from right by the parking lot. Look for a bus that says Settlement. You can take either the purple or yellow route.

We went to the petting zoo & took a pony ride ($3). Then we checked out the store & took a boat over to the MK & back (DS is a transportation nut :) ). Lunch started at noon.

The buffet is rather small. Everything we had was very good, but if you are a picky eater, it might be hard to find things you like. No french fries, or chicken fingers but they did have pizza & I think mac & cheese. Also, desserts are very limited, if that matters. At lunch they just had apple cobbler, which was perfect for us.
