We just got back from Disney this past Saturday and I have a great recommendation for breakfast for anyone staying in the MK area especially the WL.

We took the Fort Wilderness bus from the WL and were at the Trails End Buffet within 5 minutes. It is a small quiet restaurant/buffet with all the foods that you find at the expensive character meals including the mickey shaped waffles. The service is friendly and the meal is only $9pp.

After breakfast we strolled through the petting farm before getting on a bus to the parks! We actually went here twice for breakfast last week since we liked it so much!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We didnt need PS's!!

Sounds Great ! Do any Character Caravans make a stop there?

No there were no characters at this breakfast it is just the buffet but the food was great especially for 9 dollars!

That's good to know, I plan on trying it when I stay there December. As far as prices go on property that is a bargain for a breakfast buffet.

We are planning on going there on our trip later this month- Glad to hear that it is good! Haven't heard too much about this gem!

Trails End is a family regular for us. My parents have nine children and the only way we could afford WDW was to pitch a tent. I remember watching my parents drink coffee out of those glass mugs, now I do. I live nearby so I do WDW a lot with the sibs, several have to drag us over to Trails End for the memories.

The ribs at lunch or dinner are my favorite.

Those were the days. FWC in July stuffed in a tent with your sibs.

Camping does not appeal to my DH, but thanks to my family he's still very familiar with The Trails End.

It is one of the best kept secrets on park... We eat there all the time... We also do a lot of camping so it is close but the food is just as good as anyplace on site...

Do they always have the ribs everyday at lunch & dinner? I looked on Deb Willis site and they are not listed on the menu. I have heard they are the same ribs as Hoop dee doo has and we really like those ribs so we would like to go to Trails End for lunch or dinner one day while at MK.

I don't ever recall seeing an advance menu for trails end. But I must say, they do have ribs often. I guess you could call ahead. I have a feeling it's not a set thing. Fried chicken is another common entree.

Does anyone know what time this breakfast buffet starts. We love a good breakfast to start our day but with our DS getting older and the prices getting higher we want to do less character breakfast meals next trip. We would like to do this before EE at MK. Anyone know if that would work?

I think the breakfast starts at 7 and goes to 11. We stayed at FW and ended up bringing home 99% of the food we brought since once we ate at Trail's End, that was it!!:D We were there at least once or twice a day!!

Ribs and fried chicken were always on the buffet. They have a different meat carved for you each night. All I can remember is turkey and buffalo two different nights although there were more. Guess I was too busy with my ribs to notice:D

You will let the secret out. Just kidding this is a great dining venue often overlooked. Best deal for the bucks on Disney property I think.:earsboy:  :earsgirl:

We did lunch there in 9/01 and there were no ribs, but they did have them at dinner 6/02.

If you do go there, ask for server Jeff. He's been at WDW for 25 years and if anyone displayed the Disney magic, it was him. We were a little disappointed that he wasn't serving the night we did dinner. I've made it a point to call and check for the next time.

It's a bargain, the food is great, usually get seated right away. I can go on and on about it, and like this thread, usually people don't realize it's there. Guess they just do the Hoop Dee Doo and ignore the same food next door without the entertainment!

We had several great servers! Jay is one who comes to mind.

The pizza here at night is very good too. There is so much cheese on them, you will have a hard time finishing before your full. We picked them up when staying at the Lodge and took it back on the bus to eat in our room. Much more reasonably priced than the Lodges and a wonderful late night snack.

Does Trails end take PS? Or is it only walkup. I called WDWDING and she said no ps but we all know that sometimes they don't always have the correct info

In all the years we've been going, we've never made PS. Except for breakfast in July with a really big party, I don't recall having a wait. Then I remember the wait was mostly to get tables together and wasn't long at that.

I don't think they take PS's. We walked right in each time except once when we waited maybe 5 minutes. Maybe if you have a large party you might have to wait.

Can anyone give a better description of what's on the dinner buffet? And, the prices for the buffet?? Very curious about this one.... Is this far from where they have the nightly campfire?

TIA!!!
