Am thinking about trying this out for dinner on our first night, but can't find a whole lot of info on it. Any reviews? Thank you!

Trail's End has some fans here but we're not among them. We tried it a couple of years ago and were underwhelmed. The food was meh, and we were seated on the lower level so we had to deal with stairs to get to the buffet.

My family and I liked it both times we went. The food isn't gourmet or anything, but it was a good selection. It isn't as pricey as other buffets, and I like taking the boat ride over to Ft Wilderness. I have another reservation made for it when I go in Sept. Also when I went it wasnt very crowded, which was nice. popcorn::

Heres some reviews from allears.net

We just tried Trail's End for the first time last Wednesday. The cost was $22.99/adult, which makes it the least expensive dinner buffet on property. We enjoyed the short boat ride over from the Magic Kingdom and it is a short walk from the boat dock. If you like "down home comfort food", then it is really good. If you are looking for low-fat, gourmet options...then it is not the place for you. The salad bar was fresh and had good choices. There was peel and eat shrimp on the bar. The hot vegetable options were few and I didn't care for the ones that I tried. The mashed potatoes and gravy were yummy and the fried chicken was great! It is the same that you can get at the Hoop-de-Doo. There were ribs, fish and a carving station-I enjoyed my roast beef. I loved the fact that they had brewed sweet tea!!!
There is a sundae bar and various cookies/cakes for dessert. I had the hot apple cobbler and put vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce on it!!! Yum!!! It was good! I would go there again. It was inexpensive, plentiful good food and it was nice to get out of the parks for a bit and relax. :goodvibes

We've eaten there and to be honest, doubt if we'll go back. Food wasn't bad, wasn't memorable either.

I wanted to tell you how much I liked it but I can't improve on this review!:thumbsup2

We really enjoyed Trails End. I agree with PP if you like "down home" you will enjoy Trails end. It's a very relaxing place to eat too. Kinda gets you away from the hustle of the "world" for a bit.

Hi! My husband just ate there tonight! He loves it so do I! It's funny because I just got off the phone with him and he enjoyed everything. The fried chicken is the same as is served at the Prime Time Cafe, it's OutSTandinG! There is also peel and eat shrimp, veggies, salads, and my husband mentioned that they had prime rib. We go every trip. It's really good, oh and they do have apple cobbler and vaniella icecream along with a sundae bar. It's far superior then the Crystal Palace in my opinion.

Have fun!

We loved Trails End, it was out of the norm of all our other ADR's. But being from the south, it's just that type of food. Southern fried yummy goodness. The lines can get pretty long, because it has a lot of seating but a small area for the buffet. The roast beef and mac and cheese were good.

This is a must on every trip both for breakfast and dinner not lunch.Best value and good service and food. It is a nice change from the park hussle. You won't be sorry as long as you like confurt food.

We ate there last June and really liked it! Loved the sweet tea, I think I had about 4 refills so when we left our server gave us a to go cup.:thumbsup2 after dinner we walked over to the campfire singalong, great relaxing evening.

We went last Dec and found the food to just be ok. The night we were there they seemed to have a hard time keeping up on restocking the food.
My husband has mobility issues and it was a hassel to get there. Took one bus there only to half to then get off and transfer to internal buses.
Also disappointed that there was NO bathroom in the restaurant.:scared1: if you need to use the restroom you have to leave the building and walk down to the bathrooms by Hoop Dee Doo. Now for some this is ok but for those with mobility issues its a hassel.
We wouldn't do it again.

We really liked Trail's End when we ate there last year and have an ADR for dinner there this year. We stay at the Wilderness Lodge and walk over on the trail between the two resorts. It's comfort food...ribs, chicken, shrimp and all the accompaniments you can imagine. Our son loved the ribs and mashed potatoes. The food was hot and they kept the buffet clean and replenished it often. We go to WDW in Sept., and it wasn't too crowded. Plus, I have Celiac Disease (no gluten for me). The chef came out and walked me through the buffet. I was able to eat just about anything I wanted and the chef even made me a hot fudge sundae. This made me very happy. :goodvibes Hope you enjoy it!

This is a must-do for us every trip too...we usually save this for our OOP meal since you can save 10% if you have an AP or are a DVC member. It's a great value for sure! My kids love to play on the playground before and after dinner too. Very quiet and relaxing.

We tried this for the first time in August of 09. We will be dining there in a couple weeks...for the 4th time! Obviously, this has become a "must do" for our family. :goodvibes
