We did breakfast there twice about 3 - 4 yrs ago, great food and so hearty that we didn't touch solid food until the evening both times. In March we're looking to spend a day in and around MK, do the rides, check out the pubs in the resorts on the monorail, eat at Trail's End then catch the fire works from the beach/deck at GF. A few questions. How is the dinner buffet and does it have peel and eat shrimp? In the first week of March, how much time should we allow to get from MK to the buffet and back? Is the boat the only option? That's what we used back in the day, but we went mid-morning. To comfortably get to the GF for the fireworks at 9 pm, what time would you make the dinner ressie for?

Thanks,
Bill From PA

Not sure about the timing element but you will need a lot of time to get over the GF unless you drive.

Food-wise.....we like Trail's End for dinner (and other meals too). It's not what you'd call adventurous but they have the basic buffet standbys. They always have something interesting and different as well. They do have peel-n-eat shrimp although the last time I was there it tasted off. We end up eating there every trip and are never disappointed but we stay at FW. I probably wouldnt go out of my way to eat there if we weren't staying there.

to get from FW to GF you could take the MK boat and transfer to either the monorail or boat to GF. the GF boat lets off at the dock near narccoossee's. enjoy!

We ate there last December and was pleased overall. My kids ate the shrimp and had no complaints about it. Fried Chicken was very good as well. The waiter we had was great and really made the experience fun for all. The only complaint i had was the duration we had to spend in line at the buffet. We had to stand up there a VERY long time. I almost reconsidered going up for anything else a second time because the lines were really long and slow. Maybe we just had bad timing and they were waiting to put some meat out, not really sure.

As far as getting from one place to the other, a safe bet would be to allow for an hour or so to get back, just in case you get delayed. I am not sure if a bus is an option, but I would think the boat is probably the best way to go. We took the boat from MK on the way there, it stopped at WL first then FW, and on the way back we got off at the Contemporary. It is a short walk from the boat dock to Trail's End. The bus option may take longer and require a ride on an internal bus and then a transfer to a resort bus, but I am not 100% on that. You may want to check on the transportation board to see if anyone knows there. Hope this was a little help for you. Have a great time!!! :sunny:

The quickest way to the GF from FW is to ake the boat to CR, then the monorail from the CR to GF.

We had dinner here in Oct 05. The server, who I think was called Lenny, was really kind to DD6 and let her put the picture she had crayoned up on the wall. Food was generally good, particularly the fried chicken - yum . The chowder seemed over salted - yuk. There were peel and eat prawns and they were ok. The single line , can lead to a lengthy wait. I would happily have dinner here again :thumbsup2
