Just curious if anyone has been recently and what they may have thought of it.

We were planning on doing 1900 Park Faire but the prices are higher than I'd like to spend and I don't care about the character meal part.

Thanks!

Last time I went was in July of 2009, and I thought it was awesome! It was my first time going, and my friend and I went between breakfast and lunch so we got a bit of both! I love that you drink out of jars! It reminded me of when I was younger and my aunt had some Disney jars that my cousins and I used to drink out of! Good times!

We went for lunch in December & loved it. I think it was about $16/adult & their were lots of options. The salad bar, fried chicken, bbq pork, & dessert bar/sundae bar were especially awesome! I highly recommend it!

When I go in May I'll be on the DDP, but will be paying for one meal OOP. I was thinking lunch at the Plaza at MK. However, Trails End looks like it may be better (and not that much more expensive). Is it better?

Trails End is good, but it's really nothing special. It serves it's purpose, which is to be there for FW guests. The food is good but you can find it at any buffet.

SSHHH!

This is a secret, but just between us, TE is one of our favorite places to eat -- the prices are a great value, we think the food is wonderful (DH is definitely a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy), it's a great break to visit FW, and you can usually get in since a lot of people don't think about it when making their ADRs.

I think it is a best-kept-secret, so ;)!

Just out of curiosity: Is there ever a decent amount of people in there? We have been to Hoop Dee Doo three times and before each show we went in for a beer at the bar and never seem to see more that a couple families inside. Is the dinning area hidden or is it just the top tier area you see when you walk in?

To be honest though we love the food at Hoop and I assume its similar if not the same given that the two are connected.

It's the top tier area and sometimes when needed people are seated in the area behind the bar. It depends on the time of day. Lunch is usually always not very crowded. Breakfast gets busy between 8-9. Dinner gets busy between 5-6.

Totally agree - it's a well-kept secret! We really like it and especially for the price! We ate there in August and it was busy due to the free dining promo, but usually you can walk right in. The chicken is now available fried or baked, and I think I like the baked even better! The ribs are tasty, cornbread fantastic, etc. etc.

OP, I think this will fit the bill for you perfectly. Much better than 1900 in terms is size, the choices are a bit less, but if you're not looking for a huge amount of different entrees, then you'll be fine at Trail's End.

We were there in September and the food was really good. We've done a lot of the buffets and this by far was one of our favorties. And we had excellent service.

Definitely a must do again for us.:cool1:

We ate there for the first time on our last trip and everyone liked it and ate plenty! We'll definitely go back there as it's a nice little diversion from the parks on our "off" day. We went in the evening (around 6ish) and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Went over to Chip and Dale's Campfire afterward, which the kids also enjoyed......
